The Răchițele waterfall also called Bride's Veil Waterfall is located on the Stanciului Valley, in the area of Răchițele of Mărgău commune, Cluj county. It is fed by the affluent Valea Seacă, of the Răchițele stream.
The waterfall is at an altitude of 1000 m and has a height of 30 m and 2 steps. At the base of the upper step there is a deep pot with a diameter of 10 m, which ensures a dispersion of water, which resembles a veil. From here comes the name of Bride's Veil Waterfall.
This place is also covered in legends. Such an old legend recalls that the name of the waterfall comes from the fact that long ago a bride would have fallen from the steep cliffs of the area where the waterfall is, and her veil was hanging on the rocks. There, the wedding couple stopped and started to cry, thus forming the waterfall.
Bride's Veil Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Romania. The waterfall is over 30 m. In addition to its beauty in the hot season, in winter the rocky wall freezes. This makes it an excellent place for ice climbing for those passionate about this sport.
The car access can be done up to the waterfall, about 6 km from the town of Răchițele or following the markings of one of the 2 routes, the red marking, which starts from Răchițele or the blue one from the Vlădeasa chalet.
